For so many years they were locked up like animals. But they cannot take the voice of the people. So, what happened from 1619 to 1865? Hip-Hop was created by the slaves that the freedom was taken from. On June 19, slavery in the United States effectively ended when 250,000 slaves in Texas finally received the news that the Civil War had ended two months earlier. The Thirteenth Amendment abolishes slavery throughout the United States. ![]() The year 1619, the first African slaves arrived in Virginia. The days of when the people needed their voices to be heard more then ever. Isn’t that what Hip-Hop is, the voice of the people? Let us go back to the days of Hip-Hop.
